Happy International Women’s Day!! It’s a big day — a time when we celebrate the myriad achievements of women and advocate for greater gender equality.
I also love this year’s theme: #BeBoldForChange. In my lifetime, there’s never been a more accurate description for what we need right now. That’s why today, on International Women’s Day, I encourage you to do something to make the world a better place. You can check out last month’s post on 5 Ways to Get Involved Right Now, which is full of tips and links for making a difference. And since today is all about celebrating women, why not support an organization that is doing the work of supporting/helping women? Here’s a great list of organizations that support women to get you started! Here’s another great list, too. I’ll be making a donation myself this afternoon!
However you choose to celebrate today, though, I’d love to know one thing, friends: Who inspires YOU? There are so many amazing women all around us, whether moms, sisters, friends, teachers, neighbors. Obviously, my mom and sister are the two women who inspire my most in my life. They always have been. They’re my light when my world gets dark. They’re my beacon of hope when my pessimistic mind kicks itself into overdrive. They’re my safe space and my most unconditional love.
So, please, go forth and celebrate all the women in your life for the strong, fierce, empowering, loving, badass human beings they are! They deserve it — today, tomorrow and ALWAYS!!! xoxo
P.S. An Ode to Female Friendships and wise words from women.

Thanks 🙂 I have recently discovered your blog (through Cup of Jo comment section) and I really love it. It’s both informative and entertaining. Also you live in the midwest like me, and while I like reading blogs written in NY and LA, sometimes they’re not so relatable.
