Fall Fashion Do or Don’t: Statement Tights

One thing I’ve learned since falling in love with fall fashion over the years (see my little pun there?) is just how unique it can be. Me? I’m a huge fan of the oversize sweaters (ahh, another pun!) and anything plaid, but apparently statement tights are a thing. Not only are they fall’s most practical trend, according to Fashionista, but there are a bunch of funky and cool ways to personalize them this year! Need a bit more convincing? Here are six of my favorite tight trends…

Dot tights, $6.99

Floral tights, $3.49

Neighborhood tights, $28.96

Gold polka dot tights, $35

Bird tights, $28.96

Heart tights, $14.50

Well, friends, would you be game to get a leg up on the trend (pun #3…!)? Is it a Do or a Don’t? What is your favorite statement style and what other fall fashion advice do you have for readers? Hope you’re having a great Monday! xoxo

It’s the ideal weather for wearing a cardigan. They are a nice layering piece with dresses, skirts, jeans or pixie pants. Not only are they cute and perfect for all your fall adventures. Etsy Love: Fall Hair Accessories

I know we already talked about Fall Fashion 2015 last week, but I couldn’t resist sharing one more pretty trend: hair accessories. The whole flowers-in-your-hair look is typically such a summer staple — you picture long, billowing dresses matching the green or pink flower nestled in your hair. But, as I discovered on Etsy, there are so many fall-themed hair pieces — accessories full of reds and oranges and yellows. It almost feels like you plucked the leaves right off the tree, like in the gold leaf hair pin ($16), above. A few more of my favorites…

Burnt orange head wreath, $65…

Flower bobby pins, $14…

Mini floral comb, $34…

Rustic flower crown, $74…

Fall bridal hair crown, $33…

Wedding hair clip, $32

Would you wear this trend this fall, friends? How would you personalize the trend and make it your own? Which accessory is your favorite? xoxo

Fall Favorite #5: 12 Beautifully Modern Brooches

So far this week, we’ve appreciated some fashionable men, fantasized about unique trends, admired J.Crew’s fall collection, praised the ever-popular berry look and rounded up some beautiful bucket bags — whew! But I’m sure you’re all wondering, “Melissa, where’s your trademark ode to sparkly jewelry?”

Well, of course I wouldn’t forget about that. I just wanted to save the best for last. This year, brooches are making quite the statement, and we’re not talking about your grandmother’s dusty old brooch either. A decidedly modern update means that pieces can be worn on places besides the traditional lapel — think on your scarf or even in your hair. And the colors?!?!? Oooh, don’t even get me started on that bit of awesomeness! I’ve rounded up 12 of my favorite brooches…

*Nina Taylor vintage-inspired brooch, $65
*Seahorse in bronze, $23
*Reclaimed vintage leaf (would look great as a hair accessory!), $16.50
*Porcelain rose floral wreath, $24.96
*Purple orchid crystal, $18.69
*Multi-colored stone wreath, $25

*Paris Eiffel Tower, $11.69
*Crystal owl, $13.51
*Designsix gold pyramid, $14.50
*Pavé crystal black cat, $79.95
*Autumn crystal acorn, $69.95
*Red enamel crystal lipstick, $17.73

Also, here are five cool ways to style vintage brooches!

Do you wear many brooches, friends? Any that have been passed down from generation to generation? Do your ancestors proud and break them out this season! I dare you! xoxo

P.S. Friday links are coming up! 🙂
