Dream Home Do or Don’t: Quirky Planters

It’s official: My mom is exercising her green thumb again this year! She’s been carefully tending to her tomato plant every day, which has taken up residence on our patio table. She’s ever-so-devoted to her plant, but its home is sadly just a plain old brown pot. Don’t you think she should jazz things up a little? If I had my way, I’d choose something with a bit more character — remember these ceramic face planters and these spring planters?

Here are eight awesomely quirky planters perfect for your summer hobbies, starting with this Little house planter ($18)

Purple hippo planter, $29

Gold lion planter, $14

Dog planter, $28.21

T-Rex planter (for Jurassic Park lovers!), $24.50

Robot planter, $35

Small marble planter, $17.20

Death Star concrete planter, $15

What do you think, friends? Is the quirky home decor look a do or don’t? xoxo

P.S. Dream Home: Miniature Treehouses! 🙂

Dream Home Do or Don’t: Floor-To-Ceiling Wall Murals

Picture this: It’s been a long, tiring day. You’re exhausted and want nothing more than to come home and relax. The minute you step into your house? It’s like stepping into an oasis of cool and calm.

That’s the immediate feeling I get from U.K.-based Mural Walls, a collection of gorgeous wallpaper and wall murals — everything from animals to beaches to cityscapes to nursery to retro to space — that will instantly put you in a Zen frame of mind. Plus, they’re such a fun alternative to boring old wallpaper — and especially bare walls!

Talk about the ultimate mood board, huh? Which wall mural is your favorite, friends?

P.S. Would you live in a Swedish chapel? And, mini treehouses for houseplants! 🙂

Dream Home Do or Don’t: Would You Live In a Swedish Chapel?

Maybe it’s my Swedish heritage coming out here, but I completely fell in love with this converted chapel nestled in the woods. With it’s quaint gate and off-the-beaten path vibe, it seems like the sort of hideaway that would be perfect for a quiet life (a writer’s life, perhaps…?). Plus, the inside looks so open and airy…how awesome are those wood floors?

I’m sold…what about you, friends? Would you live here?? Let’s hop on a plane right now! xoxo

Dream Home: Would You Swim In This Rooftop Pool?

Talk about lounging in style! The Sky Pool is set to revolutionize the world of rooftop pools when it makes its debut in London’s Embassy Gardens in 2017. The pool, measuring 90 feet long and 10 feet deep, will connect two apartment buildings, so not only will you be able to swim between you and your neighbor’s house, but the glass bottom will also give you a nice, clear view all the way down the 10 stories below you!!

YIKES!!! Would you dare take a dip, friends? You know how much I love a good splash, but this? Well, this might just be my limit… xoxo

Dream Vacation Do or Don’t: Would You Try Tree Camping?

Talk about taking camping to new heights! How have I not heard of tree camping before? In Germany, for example, you can actually sleep suspended from a tree.

Suspended. In a tent. From a tree. I wouldn’t mind sitting in one and taking in the scenery, but sleeping for the entire night? Oh, not sure about that? I can just picture myself waking up in the middle of the night and, not remembering where I was, screaming in terror.

But that’s just me.

What about you, friends? Would you try it? Have you tried it? Any other crazy camping stories? xoxo

P.S. More Fall Favorites are coming up shortly! 🙂
