I Tried It: ChapStick Summer Collection and Duos

ChapStick Summer Collection and Duos ChapStick Summer Collection and DuosSpeaking of summer, I’ve been positively brimming with excitement to share this post with you, friends!! It’s well established on this blog that I’m a bit obsessed with lip balms and have written extensively on this topic in the past — believe it or not, there IS quite a lot to say (err, write…) about these deceptively simple products. I just love everything about them, obviously, and consider them to be one of life’s simple pleasures. Well, back in April, I found out that ChapStick was about to release a new line and, umm, I almost screamed right there in the quiet library! So I naturally did what any uberfan would do and emailed them to see if they’d like to collaborate on an upcoming blog post. And…they were game!! They sent me so many samples to review the ChapStick Summer Collection and Duos! Truth be told, I was practically in Lip Balm Heaven! Here’s a rundown of each product and my discerning thoughts…

ChapStick’s Summer Collection

First up is the brand’s newest release, just in time for warm weather and lazy days spent outside! The Summer Collection sports three awesome flavors: Pink Lemonade, Peaches & Cream and Sweet Watermelon. They’re the perfect way to start summer and “brings the sweet aroma of summer to your lips with every swipe.”

ChapStick Summer Collection and DuosJust as I suspected, these little gems don’t disappoint! All the flavors glide on so smoothly and are the ultimate in refreshing — they make your lips feel extra moisturized! My favorite of the three? Pink Lemonade, of course!!! Because, really, if lemonade doesn’t just scream summer fun, then I honestly don’t know what does!

ChapStick Duos

I was so excited to see FIVE packs of the Duos tucked in the envelope when it arrived! This line came out awhile ago and I never got to try them, but I’m so glad I could get my hands on them now! Why? Because it’s the ultimate in the lip balm experience! I mean, it’s basically everything you could ever want and is like two lip balms in one! Billed as fun and exciting, the eight flavors can be “mixed, matched and attached” to create your own custom flavor combinations — flavors include Fresh Coconut, Berry Sorbet Shimmer, Vanilla Shimmer, Tropical Pineapple, Strawberry Kiwi, Cool Mint, Refreshing Watermelon and Sweet Peach!

ChapStick Summer Collection and DuosThe possibilities? Up to 28 different flavor combinations, so you can basically mix and match until you find your own personal flavor sweet spot! What could be better than that? My favorite of the bunch? Coconut! I always seem to gravitate toward all things coconut, especially as the summer approaches! It reminds me of sunscreen and sitting by the pool all day long!

Thanks so much to ChapStick for sending me this lovely goody bag! Have you tried either line yet, friends? Which flavors are your favorite?? Do you have a ton of ChapStick products roaming around in your beach bag? Happy summer to all… xoxo

Fall Favorite #3: Rose Gold Hair

Have you heard about the newest hair trend for fall? I had to do a double-take when I first saw it because it seemed pretty wild and crazy.

Rose gold.

We’ve seen the trend on jewelry and it’s become one of my favorites in recent years, but…on hair? What would that even look like? I was imagining freakishly glowing locks that blind you like the sun’s rays or maybe some kind of platinum knock-off. I wasn’t all too sure, but I knew one thing: I was intrigued. Very.
Refinery29 even made predictions on its longevity, saying…

“Now, the concept may not seem new, as Emma Roberts debuted a Coachella-ready “desert rose” back in March and Ashley Tisdale tried the color in May. But actresses aside, we’re predicting the trend will have very long legs. Why? The hue — which most closely matches the light that’s cast at the start of a Malibu sunset — looks good on everyone, and is as easygoing as it appears.”

Don’t believe me?? Here are some of my favorite incarnations of the rosy-hued trend…

Side braid

Floral bun

Braided bun

Gorgeous, right? I like to think I was sort of, kind of, maybe ahead of this trend — you know, with my naturally darker rose gold hair color. Or, as Janelle says, my copper hair.

Would you try this trend, friends? Do you like it? It’s definitely an original look, that’s for sure…something that would certainly turn a few heads as you walk down the street like one of those models in the shampoo commercials! xoxo

P.S. Pretty ponytails, fall hair accessories and how I learned to love my red hair! 🙂

Fall Favorite #1: Autumnal Attire

Welcome to Fall Favorites Week 2016, friends! For five years now, you’ve seen me explore my growing love of fashion and beauty by highlighting some of the best fall fashion trends, tips and styles. We’ve looked at everything from scarves to emerald nails to flare jeans to bucket bags, and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it.

So that’s why this year, I thought it would be fun to kick off this most fashionable of weeks by taking an overall look at, well, the classic fall look. If I’ve learned anything about fashion over the years, it’s that there are certain colors, textures and prints that just set the mood and scream pumpkin spice latte and apple cider donuts! Take a walk with me down the metaphorical runway — or a frolic through the pumpkin patch — as we check out some great autumnal attire…

Flannel shirt, $29 | Cozy animal socks, $9.99 | Burgundy handbag, $39.99 | Dusky blue nail polish, $10 | Scarf, $25.20 | Pumpkin necklace, $10.80

Which is your favorite, friends? Are you excited for lots of fall fashions? What look do you like the best? Let’s celebrate the season, shall we??? Also, is there anything in particular you’d like to see in this week’s Fall Favorites posts? xoxo

P.S. Catch up on all the Fall Favorites through the years: 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015.

My Favorite Things With Groupon Coupons

(This is a sponsored post, though all opinions are mine. Thanks so much for continuing to support So About What I Said’s wonderful sponsors!)

I’m excited to share more finds from Groupon Coupons today, friends! One of the things I’ve realized in all my years of being a semi-shopaholic? My “fun” purchases usually revolve around three things: Lip balm, school supplies and candy.

That’s it! After all my essential expenses are paid for the month, I’ve been know to treat myself on one of my classic Target Trips. My mom always used to call it “fun money” and I think she’s right! And what’s even better than shopping, you ask? Saving money while shopping for the things you love.

That’s where the wonders of Groupon Coupons comes in! It’s a great way to save, with coupons to some of my favorite stores — everything from Target to Walmart to ULTA Beauty to Walgreens. Just for fun, here’s a mini round-up of the lip balm, school supplies and candy I’d buy with those lovely coupons…

LIP BALMS — Chapstick’s Total Hydration in Honey Blossom, Lip Smacker’s Juicy Jelly Bean and NIVEA’s Mint and Minerals.

SCHOOL SUPPLIES — Sharpie pens, colorful binders and daily planner.

CANDY — PEZ, Sour Patch Kids and M&Ms.

Which ones are your favorites?? Any treats you’re dying to indulge in?? Make sure you celebrate with some savings today! xoxo

Health and Beauty Savings With Groupon Coupons

(This is a sponsored post, though all opinions are mine. Thanks so much for continuing to support So About What I Said’s wonderful sponsors!)

Remember a few weeks back when I posted about my Walgreens adventures in my on-going quest to become a Beauty Guru? I may have come a little late to the party, but I’m determined to master this new world. Oh, yes, it will happen!!

Well, the learning — and adventures — continue, this time, with the help of Health, Beauty & Wellness Groupons! Everyone’s favorite way to save offers great coupons to stock up on life’s essentials — and of course, some fun treats to brighten those ho-hum days!

We all have our favorite stores, don’t we? You know, the ones that we find ourselves going to on the regular (that’s what the kids are saying these days, rights?), and lucky for me, I found plenty of Groupon Coupons for my fave haunts, like Target and Walgreens; I definitely think a huge trip is in my future. It’d be the perfect time to check out all the new lip balms for the fall.

So, what health and beauty items are you excited about for fall, friends? Any special treats on your list? There’s so much out there that it can be overwhelming sometimes, but maybe the hunt is really part of the adventure, right? Happy hunting! And, don’t forget to LIKE Groupon on Facebook and FOLLOW on Twitter for extra fun and savings!!! 🙂
