Cute City Totes

City Totes City Totes City TotesHow awesome are these city totes from Brooklyn artist Claudia Pearson?? She designed these adorable bags based on her own drawings of landmarks and iconic spots in various cities across the United States!

I love how each bag seems to capture the heart of what makes a city so special. The Bean in Chicago! The beach in Miami! The fish market in Seattle! The Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco! There’s something for everyone, which is one of the things I love about visiting big cities! I also love that there are memories tied to each place I’ve visited, you know?

Which city tote is your favorite, friends? What wonderful city have you had adventures in lately?? I’m just daydreaming over here in the cold Midwest winter!! xoxo

P.S. More city-centric goodies: Posters and tattoos!

These Food Puns Are Deliciously Hilarious

Food Puns Food PunsHere’s something I know my friend Lexi will really appreciate: Food puns!

At the suggestion of his son, artist Chris Durso began The Foodnites States of America, and, YES, the project is just as intriguing and wonderful as it sounds. Durso created some of the 50 states using food, like using peas for Mississippi and Swiss cheese for Wisconsin. I love them, but I sure do wish there was one for Illinois!

Food Puns Food PunsHow fun is that? And the best part is that you can also purchase posters, which would make a cool collection of all the states you’ve ever visited! Do you have a favorite one, friends?? xoxo

Found: Gorgeous Trash Can Flowers

Lewis Miller Trash Can Flowers Lewis Miller Trash Can FlowersOne man’s trash is another man’s treasure — literally! For Lewis Miller, a floral designer in New York City, that seems to be the motto he lives by every day as he works to beautify the bustling city streets one block at a time. Just feast your eyes on his gorgeous trash can flowers! They’re part of his Flower Flashes series in which he turns otherwise grungy garbage cans into elegant floral arrangements. It’s almost as if he waves his artistic magic wand and “Poof!” An ordinary street corner is alive and awash in bright, cheery colors!

“I am in the business of fantasy and flowers, and it’s my job to transform key moments in my clients’ lives into joyful, everlasting memories,” he says. “I wanted to recreate a similar feeling for the everyday city-dwellers and tourists of New York City.”

How beautiful is that, friends? What a way to brighten people’s lives as they go about the daily grind. I can just imagine being stressed out while rolling down the street, looking up and seeing these pretty flowers! Ahhh, instant calm!

Lewis Miller Trash Can FlowersYou can see more of Lee Miller’s work here, including other flower arrangements he’s done throughout the city! xoxo

Morning Calm in the Form of Pink Balloons

Federico Picci Filling Spaces pink balloonsThere’s just something about Thursday morning that finds me dragggging! Maybe it’s the fact that we’re so far from Monday and so close to Friday, but I seriously can’t get going for some reason. But this morning, I’ve found my calm in the form of pink balloons, thanks to Federico Picci’s Filling Spaces series — the ethereal beauty is just what I need.

Federico Picci Filling Spaces pink balloons Federico Picci Filling Spaces pink balloonsThe Florence-based graphic designer and pianist wanted to imagine a world in which something as intangible as music materialized into these pretty pastel pink balloons. They float about, taking up every corner of the sparse room.

“This concept started as a personal study on the connection between light and space,” says Picci. “I tried to show how something immaterial like music can fill the room with his beauty. I always try to imagine how the music that I play might have a shape, a color, a mass or even a smell. As a human being, we are unable to see it, but we can actually feel it through our infinity imagination.”

How magical is that, friends? I love how whimsical it is, don’t you? Sort of reminds me of the perfect daydream on a warm summer day. Hope your day is full of daydreams come true! xoxo

What Life With a Disability Looks Like

What Life With a Disability Looks Like What Life With a Disability Looks LikeI often struggle to find just the right words to describe how it feels to have a disability. What sorts of things do I face in my daily life? Well, leave it to Jessica and Lianna, two sisters who both live with disabilities. They decided to draw some scenarios that they could relate to and The Disabled Life was born. The sisters perfectly capture what life with a disability looks like in their amazing drawings…

What Life With a Disability Looks Like What Life With a Disability Looks LikeAren’t they a breath of fresh air, friends? It’s great to see people talking about the reality of disabilities, which is something I’ve always tried to do…sometimes succeeding and sometimes not. xoxo
