Ooh, These Beautiful Pies Are Magical

Beautiful Pies Beautiful PiesDon’t mind me, friends, I’m just enjoying the wonder and splendor that are these beautiful pies this morning! Aren’t they truly a work of art? Lauren Ko lives in Seattle, and she started making these creations just a year ago. Yes!! A YEAR AGO!! Can you believe that?

“I come from a family of eaters and phenomenal home cooks, so it feels a bit like I’ve been cooking and baking my whole life,” she says.

Beautiful PiesHer Instagram is filled to the brim with her delicious creations, and I’m particularly fond of Starry Nut, her take on the Van Gogh classic Starry Night!

Beautiful PiesLauren also says she’s forever brainstorming new color combos, and, boy, does it show! I’m loving all the color that’s bursting from these photos, aren’t you? Which pie is your favorite? Aren’t you hungry just looking at these photos?? xoxo

These are soo great! I like the Instagram account of thepieous. She makes incredible pies featuring celebs to intricate pies to just pies you don’t want to eat because they’re so well-made! Definitely check her out too.

Melissa, Thanks for the neat story and pictures! But especially, thank you for the commentary on the fate of the troll that was posted on CNN.com. The decline of civility and common curtesy in the era of the Internet is disappointing to me (a 72 year old fat, balding white guy) and concerns me about the future of the civilization. Your comments brought back some hope for better times to come, and a reminder that we must all speak out, and not just say “Oh, well”. Thanks, Terry

My own pies now pale in comparison. But thanks so much for spreading beauty at this wonderful blog. I’m glad you are part of our Illinois blogging community. Author LB Johnson, rescue dog mom, and Chicagoan.

Dear Melissa Blake…I stumbled on your name in the CNN report on the trolls…I hardly ever post online…yet one of your comments brought me to your blog to share this message…you spoke of how this cruel behavior from others is changing you…that worried me deeply…until I opened your blog page and I see all the love, light and feel good energy radiating …so I’m not so worried any more…hate can’t change you or anybody else…keep doing what you’re doing…living your beautiful life and spreading the cheer… No force on earth can drive out love …much love from an Indian South African who sees you…there are no limits to our humanity and love…whoever we may be, wherever we may live ❤️
