Family Photos: Stella Says Hello

Stella Says Hello Stella Says HelloOK, this may make me sound like I’ve completely become a Cat Lady, but these photos just scream ‘Stella says hello’ to me!

Do you agree? I snapped them recently when she was sitting in the window sill on a warm and breezy summer day, and it was nice to capture her in a rare moment of calm. Have I mentioned that Stella is a bit high strung and usually lives her life in some state of nervousness? Plus, she doesn’t like to get her picture taken nearly as much as Harry does, so it can sometimes be difficult to get a good shot!

Honestly, I don’t even think she noticed me — she was just enjoying watching the world go by and taking in the cool air. It made me think: Isn’t that how we all should live? We’re always so busy hurrying and scurrying from one thing to the next, and those moments of pure calm are rare.

Anyway, I’m thinking about that notion this week as I get back to work; I’m sure there are bound to be some hard moments!!

What’s your idea of calm these days, friends?? How do you watch the world around you, as Stella seems to do so well?

I think Stella has the right idea, just chill by the window and take in the seasons. For me, moments of calm are precious and few. Moments of calm for me are, surprisingly, visitors in the backyard like when the brown rabbit sits on our lawn and calmly stares at me or when a butterfly takes a seat on a nearby tree. I think we would all be better off if we put aside some moments of calm each day to take in nature around us and appreciate what she has to offer.

My cats like to stare out the front room window.
