As I just mentioned on Twitter this afternoon: “Getting realllllly real on the blog today and showing you my wind-swept hair!!!!” That’s all very true, friends, as my summer so far can attest to! And since today is the official first day of summer (happy Summer Solstice, everyone!), I thought it would be the perfect time to share some photos of my summer shenanigans so far! The most important photo first, of course, on the topic of that wind-swept hair I mentioned: I was out and about over the weekend and the weather was perfect — sunny, cool and just breezy enough to give my hair that tousled-in-all-the-right-places look. You know, like I just got out of bed, only styled it that way…
Speaking of nice weather, we’ve been taking walks on the nice days! We have a lovely bike path right across the street and it’s all paved, which is perfect for my wheelchair. Cheers to my mom and her amazing photography skills for snapping these pics…
For some reason, I’ve been listening to lots of ’60s music on Sirius lately! I grew up on the oldies, so I sort of feel like I’m going back to my roots. And, I’ve decided that Georgy Girl is one of my new theme songs! Have you heard it? It’s pretty much perfect, if you ask me…
Do you have phases with food? I’ll find a food I like and then become really, really obsessed with it for awhile. That’s where I’m at with Cheez-Its lately. They. Are. Delicious. Full disclosure: I’m eating them right now as I’m typing this post. If that’s not obsession, then I don’t know what is! And my choice of refreshing soda pop? Mountain Dew, of course…
Remember my office mascot from a few months ago? Well, now I’ve got a new little friend to keep me company! My mom surprised me with this little solar turtle, who swings back and forth in his hammock when you put him in the sun. It’s surprisingly soothing and calming. Talk about relaxing!
And finally, those who know me will know that I say this in all seriousness…I was *so* happy to be at the hospital last week for a blood draw to check my cholesterol. I love it there!!! It’s like home!!! And they found a vein on the first try!!
How have you been relaxing lately? Are you in full-on summer mode yet?? I’d love to know what you’re up to, friends!! Here’s to a season on chilling, refreshing drinks and lazy days! xoxo

Yes, like you, I love the song Georgey Girl. Also love the song Lazy Days of summer. remember the song….roll out those lazy, hazy crazy days of summer, those days of soda and pretzels and beer…You can listen to it on utube by Nat King Cole, I woul;d think.
In the summertime, I like to relax in my backyard with a slice of watermellon or a delicious peach. Another great summertime food for relaxing with is corn on the cob. Oh how wonderful!

Your windswept hair is very cool. I love breezy, easy hair.
I agree with you about the food. Corn on the cob is delicious as are peaches: “Do I dare to eat a peach?”
My favorite junk food is a hot fudge, peanut sauce sundae with peanut butter vanilla ice cream, topped with whipped cream and a cherry, of course. My favorite soft drink is Pepsi, a can a day (don’t tell Lauren). I’ve never tried Mountain Dew, but I’ve heard it’s very refreshing.
