Dream Home: Indoor Courtyards

So! We’re on a House Hunters kick again and have been DVRing every episode like craaaazy! We’ve even settled into a nice little habit of watching one episode while we eat dessert every night — and, of course, I gawking at all the gorgeous houses, which are typically as richly decorated as my rich dessert choices! A couple months ago, though, my jaw dropped extra quick when I saw the ultimate Dream Home feature…indoor courtyards.

Whaaattt?? These beautiful oases actually exist in the world? Apparently so, as I did a little digging and discovered that they are indeed a very real thing. For example, according to Home Designing: “A courtyard inside the house can be a peaceful relaxing area. They give you the feel of the outdoors and the privacy of your home.”

Ahh! Can you imagine looking out your bedroom window and gazing upon such a breathtakingly gorgeous escape? It’s like a den, but not a den — a garden, but not a garden. Surely, it’s the best of both worlds — indoor and outdoor living at its best, don’t you think? I mean, I could just picture myself out there furiously typing away on my laptop, all my notebooks and to-do lists sprawled out in front of me. The good life — surrounded by pretty greenery to boot!
