My Spring Break: A Visual Diary

It’s Wednesday. I’m still easing into the work week, which is sort of surprising considering I enjoyed a week-long vacation last week — maybe that’s the problem right there? Either way, I was more than a little excited to get this vacay (as the hip tweens say) and dreamed of endless hours relaxing and binge-watching Royal Pains until my eyes glazed over from too much television.

Well, my eyes did in fact glaze over, but it wasn’t exactly for that reason.

I got a cold on day two of said vacay.

My mom had been sick the week before, but I naively thought my immune system was in the clear. In fact, THE NIGHT BEFORE I got sick, I thought to myself, “Whew! Looks like you dodged that one.“

Oh, silly me. When will I ever learn?

I spent the next couple days in that cold haze that leaves you feeling all sorts of foggy and like you’re stuck in a weird ’80s music video — you know, a fever, chills, psychedelic dreams. Of course, there was the sore throat, swollen glands and runny nose too. It was quite the spring break party, let me tell you!

I had some quality time with my DVR, where I daydreamed about love while watching a Hallmark movie — why must those movies ALWAYS bring on so many darn feels?

The weather wouldn’t make up its mind. One minute it was raining, sleeting and snowing…

And 10 minutes later, the sun was shining. #HelloSpring

Overall, I could have been really bummed about this little detour over my spring break. I mean, really, who likes to be sick during fun times? But in the end, I just took my lead from Harry and Stella. They literally slept practically all day, every day. And you know what?? They didn’t seem to feel one bit guilty about it. At all. We all can learn a lot from our furry friends, can’t we? xoxo

Hope you're feeling better. Love those shots of Harry and Stella! Glad you had the best of company. Oi! And cozy quilts to go with the feels.
