As sad as it is to admit, the glorious summer days are numbered. Before we know it, the winds of a new season will be blowing in all their blustering glory. But, the good news in all of this? Fall-themed accessories, of course! I can’t help but think of cool autumn days every time I browse ADesignJewelry, the beautiful New Jersey-based Etsy shop. Ana, the creative mind behind the shop, has a design eye for all things pretty — from necklaces to bracelets to earrings — and she approaches each piece she makes as a brand-new creation: “I never make two identical pieces,” she says, “so you can be 100% sure no one in the world will be wearing the same jewelry you have bought. That is because I see in each item I made one whole creature that has it’s unique expression.” Read on for more behind-the-scenes and Ana’s favorite fashion and jewelry trends! xoxo

So tell me a bit about your shop. What was the inspiration behind its launch?
It is a combination of my desire for creativity and love for unique jewelry pieces. On a more down-to-earth reason: My two oldest daughters got married, so the feeling of the empty nest, etc. I was looking for something that might fill the space and help me contribute some beauty and joy to the world.
What are some of your favorite fashion and jewelry trends, especially for the summer?
I like the simple style of J Jill, for example. Close to nature, but with common sense. As for summer, I am a big fan of colors, the blend of them, warm and cool and their combination.
What are your top 3 tips for shopping for jewelry online. Are there any particular sites you love?
1. Knowing what you are looking for, what style, colors and materials.
2. Checking the trustworthiness of the sellers.
3. Understanding and paying special attention to dimensions of items.
What is your favorite item in your shop and why?
I like my items where I combine ceramic or gemstones with Swarovski crystals — it’s the union between Earth and sky and air, like the gold-plated round pendant, above.
