If you follow me on Twitter, you’ll know that it’s been an interesting couple of days around these parts! The whole sordid story deserves its own post entirely — and get its own post it will, soon, complete with a full reflection — but suffice it to say, the events included us getting a DVR box and my losing the 128 shows i had yet to watch.
So! Our new DVR is lonely and in need of some good TV shows! It’s waiting to be filled up, so what do you recommend, friends? What shows have you been loving lately? Any favorites?

I'm sure half my suggestions will be shows you've already watched but here goes! Definitely Friday Night Lights and Parenthood are on my top ten list. Call the Midwife (BBC or PBS), Graceland (USA series), Fargo (FX), Rectify, the new Sherlock Holmes series with Benedict Cumberbatch (I think you've already seen this?), and I'll end my list with Justified (Timothy Olyphant and Walt Goggins are excellent). Good luck finding a new series to binge on!

If you like Breaking Bad, you might like Sons of Anarchy too. It's like a retelling of Hamlet, but with motorcycle gangs. It comes on FX. The final season starts in the fall, but the earlier seasons are on Netflix. Also I really like Playing House, and it's on USA. It's about a career-focused woman coming back home to help her best friend raise her baby.

Believe it or not, I don't watch TV – I haven't had cable in years. I did used to love watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Gilmore Girls, and Veronica Mars though.

Lately I've been obsessed with the new series Sleepy Hollow. I also recommend The Bletchley Circle, Call the Midwife, and Parks and Rec!
