Last week, I shared a bit more about my first love — those awkward early years, thinking we were Soul Mates and just approaching the whole thing with a high dose of sugary-sweet innocence. Today, friends, I’d love to turn the tables and ask you: Who was your first love?
Maybe he was the boy who pulled your hair on the playground. Maybe he was the boy who walked you home every day and let you use his umbrella so you wouldn’t get wet. Or maybe it was the kid who sat behind you in science and made you laugh every single day by telling the craziest — and corniest — jokes! I think about first love a lot, about how they shape us and leave little impressions on our hearts. When you think about it, it’s sort of like a road map. After all, your heart does become a road map of sorts because it shows everywhere you’ve been. And those little indentations people have left? Over time, they begin to tell a story, not only the story of the person you once were, but the story of the person you are because of who you left into your life — and your heart.
So, tell me, friends: If we looked at your heart, what would we see? Who has left their mark on it? What does it look like? And, whose heart have you left your impression on? Do you think first loves are important, or not so much? xoxo
