Name On My Heart

I actually wrote this one while waiting for my bus after my doctor’s appointment this morning (update: Ears are clean as a whistle!). It’s about a guy I knew a couple years ago — a guy I knew I shouldn’t be falling for, but gosh darnit, he made it nearly impossible not to. Have you ever met someone like that, friends? xoxo
It’s days like these when I want to shout it out and not keep it in

When your face dances across my mind like a vision in the wind
It’s such a beautiful tune
How is it that you make me want to fall
When I barely know you at all
I wonder if you feel it too

‘Cause I don’t know where to start, but your name’s on my heart
I never expected this, but it’s jumping out of my chest
Never thought you could make me forget
Don’t you know I carry you around with me
You’re my light in the dark ’cause, boy, your name is on my heart

It’s that feeling I get every time that you walk by
My, oh, my, I can feel those sparks fly
Well, I’d tell you everything if only I could be honest
‘Cause your laugh, your eyes, your smile
It all feels so right
Before you walk away, let me leave you with one promise

‘Cause I don’t know where to start, but your name’s on my heart
I never expected this, but it’s jumping out of my chest
Never thought you could make me forget
Don’t you know I carry you around with me
You’re my light in the dark ’cause, boy, your name is on my heart

It’s that feeling I get every time that you walk by
My, oh, my, I can feel those sparks fly
My, oh, my, my heart’s racing

‘Cause I don’t know where to start, but your name’s on my heart
I never expected this, but it’s jumping out of my chest
Never thought you could make me forget
Don’t you know I carry you around with me
You’re my light in the dark ’cause, boy, your name is on my heart

‘Cause I don’t know where to start, but your name’s on my heart
I never expected this, but it’s jumping out of my chest
Never thought you could make me forget
Don’t you know I carry you around with me
You’re my light in the dark ’cause, boy, your name is on my heart

So About What I Said is a daily blog that covers relationships, disabilities, lifestyle and pop culture. I love to laugh and have been known to overshare. I also have an unabashed obsession with pop music, polo shirts, and PEZ dispensers. Read more...
