My 100-Word School Story: On the most embarrassing moment of fifth grade

I had one of my most difficult and major surgeries — a spinal fusion — the summer before fifth grade. As I recovered from a post-surgery infection, I went to school for half a day for the first couple of months. On one of my first days back, everything seemed to be going well…until I got to science class. The teacher was rambling on about some scientific principle, and all of a sudden, my stomach didn’t feel quite right. Once we got into groups, I, well, vomited. In. Front. Of. The. Whole. Class. Everyone backed away as if I were radioactive!

That's pretty bad, lol… Somehow, I think letting a big fart would have been worse. The good part – it's in the past. 🙂

My most embarrassing moment was when the entire 9th grade found out I had a crush on a certain guy. Said certain guy was "grossed out" and avoided me like the plague after that. The rest of the year, my classmates (lovingly) ragged me to no end.

    Cute entry, Melissa!

That happened to me twice in kindergarten… in the same day. Apparently puking everywhere isn't considered sick if you don't have a fever?! So after getting sick once, off they sent me to science lab with the rest of the class, and I got sick again. I guess they got tired of cleaning up because after that I was finally sent home, LOL. Not to mention I went to school with the same people all through high school so I had a few people say "hey, remember when…?" so embarrassing hahaha

Oh you poor thing! That's rough. Any embarrassing moments having to do with bodily fluids (or bodily functions) are the worst.

How horrible! Urgh, I've vomited a few times in front of other people and it's horrible.

Oh, no! I don't think I've ever actually vomited in front of anyone. Radioactive is pretty funny, though! 🙂

Aw poor thing! I think I've managed to completely block out most of the embarrassing school memories of my childhood, a good dose of healthy repression aha! x

That's bad. If it makes you feel better and in the spirit of sharing embarrassing stories I have surgery when I was in college. While sitting in Art History my white shirt suddenly had a giant green spot on it. Apparently it was expected that I would drain this slime out of my belly button area over the course of a few days but my body did it all at once. Horrifying. Best part was that one girl said I did it for attention.Trust me I wanted to be the Invisible man after that.

Omg, I have a similar story but in the third grade! I had a stomach virus and I threw up at home but my mom still made me go to school. Middle of the school day…blech. My classmates were so grossed out. Didn't help that I was the new immigrant kid that dressed funny.

My brother brought a nasty stomach flu bug into the house when I was in high school and I was so fortunate to get hit with it right at the beginning and an essay exam in English class…not only did I then have to redo the exam, but my teacher also gave me a lunch detention because I took the cover off my text book to clean it and didn't replace it. Ugh. Talk about insult to injury.
