Would you wear matching outfits with your partner?

Last week, the Today show interviewed Mel and Joey Schwanke. The couple, who have been married for 64 years, shared their secrets to wedded bliss. So, what’s the thread that has tied them together all these years? They always wear matching outfits. Joey has 146 dresses and her husband, Mel, has 146 ties to match. The idea came about years ago when their dressmaker had cloth leftover from unused belts. Now, the couple say, people expect to see their matching attire. “We go to church on Sunday morning, and they check us both out to be sure that we match,” says Mel. Check out their full interview here.

How cute is that? Would you ever do this, friends? Do you do it now? Do you know anyone who does? xoxo

P.S. Remember this Switcheroo series?

No joke, Mr. Branflake really really really wants to do this. I've always resisted.

This is great! First off…who has a dress maker anymore? They are so cute and wearing those ties to match his wife says a lot about him as a husband. I'm sure he does many things similar to that which keeps her happy! He's quite the catch!

Wow, that's pretty different. It's cute with an older couple; I'm not sure how it would look if they were in their 30s. I remember when I was a little kid, matching shirts for couples was a thing people did. My parents had one pair, but I never saw them wear them at the same time.

My grandparents were square dancers, and at every dance my grandad's shirt matched my grandma's dress. I think my grandma liked it a lot more than he did!

This is so darling, and frankly, hysterical! John and I will often come out of our respective closets dressed alike, but never on purpose!

Hahahaha, that's the cutest thing I've ever seen. They look like they are still besties. I think matching with my husband would be cute as older people. Maybe not so much now, as we are in our 20's. Although, I do think it's fun to wear matching outfits for theme parties (ugly Christmas sweater parties), and the like.
