Sponsor Spotlight: JulieTheFish Designs

Good afternoon, friends. I had the chance to chat with with the namesake behind JulieTheFish Designs. She’s carried a childhood love of all things crafty into adulthood. Read on for the inside scoop and a special announcement… xoxo

So tell me a bit about you and your shop.
Hi! I’m the Julie behind JulieTheFish Designs. I live in central California. Unfortunately, I don’t live at the beach or in the mountains, but kind of in the middle of both. I live with my husband Jeff and our three silly little boys. During the day I stay at home with my boys and work on my business. At night, I teach English as a Second Language to adults. I love all of my jobs (mommy, artist, & teacher), and they keep me very busy!

What inspired you to start the shop?
I have always loved crafts. As a little girl, I loved to do anything “crafty.” As an adult, I’ve tried to refine my skills. Although my passion is JulieTheFish Designs and the pieces I create for my customers, I still love to dabble in almost any craft. (Although I’m horrible at drawing!). In 2008, I was teaching myself hand-stamping and decided to open an Etsy shop. I thought it was a great way to keep my creative side alive while staying home with my sons. Little did I know that in a few years’ time, it would become a full-time business!

What’s your best piece of advice for people looking for great online shopping deals?
There are amazing coupon deals online now! Every time I see a box at checkout for a promo code I try to find one – Google it, email the owner, etc. There are also some great deals through Groupon-like sites.

In this recession economy, what are some ways people can still look chic for less?
That’s easy – shop at JulieTheFish Designs! 🙂 Seriously, though, I think sometimes the best deals come to those who wait. Sometimes you have to be patient for the sale to get the bargain. Often times you can get exactly what you want at a better price if you wait for the right time.
What is your favorite item in your shop and why?
My favorites change all the time. Right now, my favorite is the new simple line that I’m launching (okay, I know that’s not technically ONE item). The pieces are simply gorgeous. They are meant to be those “go-to” pieces. Something that you can wear with any outfit for any occasion. I love the butterfly wing pendant necklace.

*Special announcement: JulieTheFish Designs is now offering online parties! It’s a really fun, easy way to introduce the shop to your family & friends. Plus, hostesses receive up to 20% of their party’s sales in shop credit. Be sure to email Julie for more information: juliethefish@gmail.com”
