Have a question? I’d love to hear it, so feel free to email me (mellow1422 [at] aol), friends! Today’s question comes to us from S.M., who asks…
Would you ever get a tattoo? If so, what would it be and where? 😉
Ahhh, the eternal question: To get a tattoo or leave my skin forever clean and uninked? It’s a tough one, I must admit. I know it might sound a bit funny, but I used to be sort of afraid of tattoos. I’d seen some people with huge, intricate tattoos adorning their arms, and as a small child, said tattoos did frighten me a bit. But as I’ve gotten older, I’m starting to think it would be sort of cool to get one. Not a large one, mind you — being as short as I am, I figure if I get one too big, it will overshadow me, and of course, we don’t want that, do we, friends? I’d want my small tattoo — on my wrist — to have some sort of story or meaning behind it, so here’s what I’ve been thinking…
A musical note tattoo in honor of my love of music and newfound love of songwriting.
A butterfly tattoo to remind me that my disability should never hold me back from anything — even flying!
A rose tattoo on my ankle because my father always called my sister and me rosebud.
A heart tattoo and an infinity tattoo for my romantic side.
Words like imagine, Let It Be, love, forever young, believe and wanderlust to always keep me inspired.
And of course, a tattoo of quotation marks for my love of writing and my geeky grammar side.
What do you think, friends? Do you have any of these tattoos? Any ones you dream of getting?

I'm probably to chicken to ever get one, but if I did I would choose my wrist!

I do like tattoos but personally I'd never get one.
I've seen too many friends get a 'meaningful' one then regret it years down the line when they've grown and their tastes and priorities have changed.
On one memorable occasion, a close friend was offered a job with a VERY famous ballet company here in London. He then revealed that he had a tattoo in a place that was very difficult to cover with make-up and they withdrew the job offer!!

I got a cross on my ankle when I was 20- I wanted to represent the things that Jesus stood for- like equality, love and inclusiveness and I felt that cross was a reminder to "walk" in the right way.
I would definitely get another one. I was originally concerned it would interfere with my career (with the end-goal of being a lawyer), but I think it is more mainstream now. You should do it!

i go back and forth between wanting one and not wanting one. i like the idea of wrist tattoos especially and having a tattoo that is original and shows who i am, but i also like the look of my skin being 'blank.' i always love seeing other people's tattoos though and the stories behind them! it shows creativity and originality to me.

This is corny, but I wouldn't mind getting a really tiny tattoo of my (someday) husband's initals or the day we met, or some other special date. I mean really tiny though! 🙂

I have one around my ankle…no regrets. It's a necklace with a cross that was given to me by a special person. So glad I had it tatted….the necklace was lost! Now I can always wear/remember it 😀 Newbie to your blog and have enjoyed reading so far.
