Soon.

I wrote this one as I was falling asleep a few nights ago — isn’t it weird how the mind gets creative at the oddest times? I got to thinking about the whole love/hate nature of love. There are just some people you know aren’t good for you, yet you can’t stop yourself from falling for them. Oh, the perils… xoxo

The lights dance on the water like drops of rain on the ocean
And I can hear the wind, it’s whispering your name
It knows I’m thinking of you
So I’ll close my eyes, and just maybe the wind will carry my heart back to you
It could be beautiful, so beautiful
But we both know it will end too soon

It seems like it was only yesterday that my heart was yours
My love was never something you had to fight for
Maybe that was my mistake
There was so much you didn’t know
Did that make it easy for you to let go?
Well, hold on, baby, ’cause I’ve got one more thing to say…

The lights dance on the water like drops of rain on the ocean
And I can hear the wind, it’s whispering your name
It knows I’m thinking of you
So I’ll close my eyes, and just maybe the wind will carry my heart back to you
It could be beautiful, so beautiful
But we both know it will end too soon

Sometimes at night when I’m falling sleep, I wish I’d never let myself fall so deep
At least then I wouldn’t be feeling this way now
But then I close my eyes
And ooooh, I can feel you right by my side
I know I’d do it all again just to have you around

The lights dance on the water like drops of rain on the ocean
And I can hear the wind, it’s whispering your name
It knows I’m thinking of you
So I’ll close my eyes, and just maybe the wind will carry my heart back to you
It could be beautiful, so beautiful
But we both know it will end too soon

So follow those lights to my window
But if it should be closed, I hope you know…

The lights dance on the water like drops of rain on the ocean
And I can hear the wind, it’s whispering your name
It knows I’m thinking of you
So I’ll close my eyes, and just maybe the wind will carry my heart back to you
It could be beautiful, so beautiful
But we both know it will end too soon

The lights dance on the water like drops of rain on the ocean
And I can hear the wind, it’s whispering your name
It knows I’m thinking of you
So I’ll close my eyes, and just maybe the wind will carry my heart back to you
It could be beautiful, so beautiful
But we both know it will end too soon

So Sweet. And probably in the line of falling for all the wrongs before finding the right one.

This is so beautiful and I think are so right that we get creative and our minds can start swirling about at the oddest times…although I often find it hardest to turn it off at night!
