It’s You.

I wrote this one as I was falling asleep last night. Have you ever had so much you wanted to tell someone, but just couldn’t muster the right words? Sometimes, I’ve found, it’s better to put feelings to paper – or computer screen. When have you felt like this, friends? xoxo

Don’t say I’m one of the coolest people you’ve ever met

Don’t you know it makes it that much harder to forget

All those things I felt when you were around

And I know you’ll probably never feel this way

But if it’s all the same

I’ll just sit here a little longer and watch the sun go down

I’m too afraid to say this all outloud

So for now, I’ll just write it all down

It’s you

With your tossled hair and your innocent glare

The way you put me so at ease

It’s you

The way you’re so easy to talk to, I sometimes want to tell you everything

It’s you

The way my heart gets ahead of my head

It’s you

I don’t want to give my heart away

’cause I don’t know if I’ll get it back again

But for you, I’d make an exception

I never meant to fall in love with you

But it’s become the only thing I want to do

Put down my armour and all my defenses

I’m too afraid to say this all outloud

So for now, I’ll just write it all down

It’s you

With your tossled hair and your innocent glare

The way you put me so at ease

It’s you

The way you’re so easy to talk to, I sometimes want to tell you everything

It’s you

The way my heart gets ahead of my head

It’s you

Maybe I’ll say all of these words someday

As we’re standing in the pouring rain

It’s you

With your tossled hair and your innocent glare

The way you put me so at ease

It’s you

The way you’re so easy to talk to, I sometimes want to tell you everything

It’s you

The way my heart gets ahead of my head

It’s you

It’s you

With your tossled hair and your innocent glare

The way you put me so at ease

It’s you

The way you’re so easy to talk to, I sometimes want to tell you everything

It’s you

The way my heart gets ahead of my head

It’s you

I can just see us know

We’re standing in the pouring rain…

I love how genuine and honest you are, Melissa! Your writing is beautiful…what a lovely piece!

I too have had a lot I want to say, too often actually, but have a hard time saying it…writing is the way to go and without it I don't know what I would do sometimes…I express myself better that way too!

    When you write…

"I'm too afraid to say this all outloud So for now, I'll just write it all down"

…I know exactly what you mean and have often done the same! Plus, sometimes I think I can never turn my mind off with thoughts, so, I know what you mean and getting those thoughts and feelings out in some form! Love the last line too!

    Liesl 🙂

Such a beautiful post! My motto is Be Zen and Grab a Pen! Anytime I have something to say but can't say it with the right words or even have the guts to say it aloud…I write it down.

Melissa, this is so powerful. If you wrote music it could easily be a song. You are so articulate in your emotions.
