Before The Storm.

I had no idea where this one was going, even as I was writing it, which is a first for me. And then I realized: Sometimes the very people who once made us so happy end up hurting us. And eventually, you find yourself wanting to go back in time, before everything went bad. When have you felt this way, friends? xoxo

Well, you put a rainbow at my feet
Who knew you’d also be the one to bring the rain
And I just can’t believe that we’re strangers now like ghosts in the night
With nothing left to say

When I saw you yesterday, I’ll admit it was enough to make me come undone
Something about your wild eyes and captivating smile
The night is written all over face
And we were happy yesterday
Before the rain
When we ran wild and free through the trees
Your kiss meant a promise to me
Before the rain
Before the rain

I pace the floor now that you’re gone
And try to forget everything I loved about you
I replay our conversations in my head, trying to figure out why
This was the kind of storm we just couldn’t see through

When I saw you yesterday, I’ll admit it was enough to make me come undone
Something about your wild eyes and captivating smile
The night is written all over face
And we were happy yesterday
Before the rain
When we ran wild and free through the trees
Your kiss meant a promise to me
Before the rain
Before the rain

I can’t tell the difference between that rain and my own tears
It all makes me want to disappear
Come with me, come with me
Before the rain comes, before the rain comes again

When I saw you yesterday, I’ll admit it was enough to make me come undone
Something about your wild eyes and captivating smile
The night is written all over face
And we were happy yesterday
Before the rain
When we ran wild and free through the trees
Your kiss meant a promise to me
Before the rain
Before the rain

When I saw you yesterday, I’ll admit it was enough to make me come undone
Something about your wild eyes and captivating smile
The night is written all over face
And we were happy yesterday
Before the rain
When we ran wild and free through the trees
Your kiss meant a promise to me
Before the rain
Before the rain

Well, you put a rainbow at my feet
Who knew you’d also be the one to bring the rain
