Simple Joys.

Isn’t it funny that when you’ve been away from home, even if it’s only for a few days, you realize all the simple joys of home that you once took for granted? While I’m recovering at home (I start work, slowly, on Monday), I’ve been enjoying all the little things like long, warm showers and my mom’s famous almond cookies.

What are some of your favorite simple joys, friends? xoxo

    I'm glad you're feeling better.
My favorite simple joys of home are my dining room windows that face East, and the beautiful welcoming sunshine we get through them every morning. My favorite fleece throw, and the fact that there is always one (or two) cats to cuddle.

    Have a great day, Melissa!

My home is a mess right now because I moved in December so I don't have a favorite spot quite yet, but it's usually curled up on my freshly made bed with a good book. 🙂

A great book that makes me forget where I am or what I was worried about. The first bite of something chocolate. A song that I can't stop repeating, either out loud or in my head. Sunshine!

I've been without my cat for the last few days as he was sick and in the hospital. While he was gone, I was so lonely and our home didn't feel much like a home without him. I'm so glad ot have him back. I also am thankful for my warm comfy bed and to sit on my couch by the big bright windows. Have a great THursday!

one of my favorite things about my house is that our upstairs bathroom is completely white, and there's a huge window in the shower, so at anytime of day, it's super bright in there. Taking a long shower in the sunlight is so therpeutic!

I usually miss my warm comforter, my cat sleeping on me (usually on my legs or cuddled in my arms) with my other two cats sleeping around me.

Ok, I loveeee that blanket! Simple joys at home = being happily greeted by boyfriend, kids and dog when I get home from work. Also, like you, I love nothing more after a long day than taking a hot shower ( then crawling under my down comforter)- bliss.

It would always have to be a good book. You know that one that you find that is simply your favorite (for at least that moment anyway). That book where you fall for the characters, the plot moves at the right speed, and you want to eat up any other books by that author. That is my simple joy. It is even better that I can take it anywhere but it is always the best at home, when the baby is asleep, the boyfriend is out, and I have a cup of hot chocolate and a warm blanket.

waking up without an alarm clock. Cooking when you're not in a rush. Hot Summer nights. Rain on the tin roof while you're sleeping.

I don't actually like showers. Judging from the above, that makes me weird!

I've been away from your blog! I'm glad to hear you're getting the care you need!

One of my simple joys of home is my bed, seriously. We got it when we got married and I have never been in such a comfortable bed. I don't know for sure what it is about it–the mattress, the bed set, everything. But it's probably because I'm still not over getting to share a bed with my husband. It's really an unspeakable joy for me. We both waited until marriage to even do that. : )

Oh, and a new joy, baby kicks!

I hope you continue to rest up and start to feel nothing less than awesome!
