The day after my big depression episode, my mother instructed us to put the Christmas tree up. We’d already put some stockings and little decorations outside, but my sister always dreaded lugging the huge tree up from the basement. Well, we did it, and I’ll be honest that my sister did most of the work. I think it looks pretty good, don’t you, friends?
We also decorated the mantle; that giant Santa is my absolute favorite. He just looks so jolly.
And, of course, my mother’s favorite ornament. Hmmm, I wonder if there’s a Barq’s ornament out there somewhere… xoxo

I'm swooning with nostalgia! Thank you, Melissa. And I wonder if there's an Orange Crush or Dr Pepper ornament (I'm dating myself…of course, I didn't mention Wink Soda which is a dead give away).
Sending miles of smiles, PA
