Place To Call Home.

I’ve been feeling a bit frustrated lately, friends, and honestly, I’m not sure why. I just feel, well, a bit lost. Don’t we all want to find home? I wrote this with that idea in mind. xoxo

I don’t know what I’m looking for
All I know is that nothing comes easy anymore
As I sit here watching the clouds pass by in shades of grey
I’m lost inside myself
Can’t fight it, there’s no way out
I’m trying to win in a losing game

Everything’s changed, but everything’s the same
And no one can see the difference
It’s getting harder every day to find the words to say
To bridge the distance
Maybe I’m not who I used to be
Maybe the wheels are in motion
’cause I’m still looking for a place to call home

I’m walking down this dusty road
Trying to hold my head up, oh, but I just don’t know
Life has a way of throwing its curves
I’m just trying to be myself
Still so much of me to figure out
But still so much love that I deserve

Holding on
Trying to stop the world from crashing down

Everything’s changed, but everything’s the same
And no one can see the difference
It’s getting harder every day to find the words to say
To bridge the distance
Maybe I’m not who I used to be
Maybe the wheels are in motion
’cause I’m still looking for a place to call home

Everything’s changed, but everything’s the same
And no one can see the difference
It’s getting harder every day to find the words to say
To bridge the distance
Maybe I’m not who I used to be
Maybe the wheels are in motion
’cause I’m still looking for a place to call home

You express yourself so beautifully, Melissa!

I think we have all felt a little lost at times, I know I have, and sometimes it is hard to know how to get out of that or find direction again, and your lyrics captured that feeling perfectly!

I saw a quote yesterday by John Lennon that said…

"How can I go forward when I don't know which way I'm facing?"

…it caught my eye and made me think…those words ring so true sometimes!

Sending you a few extra smiles and thanking you again for your open and honest qualities, they are so refreshing, and I just know you will find your home very soon!

    Liesl 🙂

I'm sending you a big hug, Melissa, and hope you feel better soon! I think we all go through those dips in our lives – when it passes, it makes the sweet moments sweeter. Hang in there!

Oh dear Melissa. I know that feeling well. I totally teared up reading this. It is beautiful and painful, and I really do hope this feeling lifts away from you soon! Sending you a big hug, and lots of good vibes!
And that quote Liesl posted is oh so true.

    Melissa,
This poem is absolutely beautiful! I wish that it were not how you are feeling however. We can all get down sometimes for no apparent reason… but I do encourage you to work at it from the inside out. Change your thinking and all else will change around you as well. As I'm doing my work right now (and of course taking a little break to read blogs 🙂 ) I was just listening to 'The Power of Your Subconscious Mind' on YouTube. http://www.youtube.com/user/pervizmammadov#p/u/22/E74JT2bAdJQ

You can listen to the whole thing for free. Maybe I was brought here to your blog just now for a reason. I believe in coincidences and I believe you should give this a chance.

Anyway, my love and encouragement to you in these times.

    Love,
    Adrienne

    You're so talented!

Whenever I dream, it always ends with going home or me trying to find my way home. Seems even in my sleep I want to find home!

This poem is lovely. Thanks for sharing. If you haven't already…youtube the song Home by Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros. I think you may like it. The video is sweet too.
