My friends, I have a confession to make. I feel a bit like a teenage Disney star. Maybe you know the type — the type who naturally grows and morphs and changes, but instead of welcoming this change, it becomes a source of frustration. Now, my change isn’t on a Miley Cyrus Can’t-Be-Tamed level, but I’ve nonetheless felt the sheer frustration lately. I received this comment last week, and thought this would be the perfect moment to address the topic (you know I never like hiding things from you, friends)…
I’m disappointed that right now your entire front page is basically ads and pretty pictures except for one song. Where is the writing that we all used to love? You post one thing a week, maybe, now that is orginal writing.
Should I feel bad for wanting to expand my blog’s focus? From the beginning, I’ve always wanted this blog to reflect my life at any given moment, a time capsule of sorts. Plus, I’ve been trying to find a balance – balancing the more serious topics, such as the letters to my future husband with more fun weddings and Etsy finds posts. And honestly, I want this blog to be fun. I never want it to feel stagnant or feel like I’m in a rut. It’s going to grow and change with me. At least that’s what I’m hoping.
Have you ever experienced these sorts of feelings with your own blog? What did you do?
P.S. In more blog-related news, I’m not on hellocotton if you’d like to add So about what I said as a favorite! 🙂
