I love this twist on the traditional baby shower. When Maria and Brad were about to discover the sex of their baby, they gathered friends and family for a gender reveal party. Even they waited until the party for the big reveal, having the sonographer write the sex of the baby on a piece of paper that the couple slipped in an envelope and gave it to the local bakery. The moment of truth was found inside the cake, in the form of either blue or pink icing.
They also asked their guests to wear either blue or pink as a sign of their vote. How genius is that?
So…are they having a boy or girl? See for yourself here, and follow their entire baby journey here. This story just brightened my Monday! Have you ever been to a party like this? 🙂

What an awesome idea! For both of ours, we had them write down the sex on a piece of paper and kept it in an envelope as well. We went out to a nice restaurant, ready to celebrate as we opened the envelope together. I do love the idea of celebrating with all your friends and family though! How fun!

That's such a fun way of learning the baby's gender! 😀 Also, that's an adorable cake. The bakery must've been very excited to be the first (other than the dr) to know the gender of the baby!
