Dream Vacation: Into The Woods.

I have a confession: This is the first summer that my family hasn’t taken one of our classic vacations since I was 6. In fact, this is the first summer we haven’t taken any vacation together. And quite honestly, I sort of miss the days when we’d pile into the car and take to the open road. Way back in the day when I thought it was the coolest thing in the world to have a tape deck in the car, we’d always listen to this Classic Hits of the ’50s tape as we zoomed down the highway (maybe that’s the reason, to this day, Neil Sedaka’s Oh, Carol remains one of my favorite songs…). That, and the reason I so wish I had been born a ’50s girl in a poodle skirt.
So let’s take some virtual vacations this week, shall we, friends? First up is this quaint cottage in the woods. Doesn’t it remind you of a fairytale? It’s the sort of place where I could see myself curling up on the front porch for days, a blanket over my legs amd just fill notebooks full of lyrics. So inspiring. What do you think? How awesome would it be to just sit inside and gaze at that crystal-blue water all day long? xoxo

P.S. More inspiration from Cottage Life magazine!

Your parents and my parents must have been to the same music store… I used to do car trips to 'Juke Box Hits' and still know all the words to 'Going to chapel' and 'Sitting in the back seat, hugging and kissing with fred!'… LOVE that cottage! Cam xox

I haven't been on holiday in years, and we don't really take family holidays anymore.
    I need to get away!!

Hi Melissa! I really adore the place that you've posted here. It looks so cozy and home like.

My brother and I use to travel together. Usually we opt for short term furnished rentals (New York and other cities). A short term apartment rental (New York city and other locations) is better than the usual hotel since it has a kitchen and it can be customized to fit the taste of the tenant.

Very interesting post. I look forward to more vacation ideas from your blog. Thanks!
