Do You Sing In The Shower?

As long as we’re on the subject of water today, I found that great reading a few days ago about the power of singing in the shower (Hey, that rhymes!), and how freeing it is. And itt got me thinking: I sing in the shower. All the time. In fact, last night, I went from singing Total Eclipse of the Heart to Don’t Rain On My Parade to Defying Gravity all in the span of 10 minutes.

It’s sort of funny, actually, because since I need help bathing, my mother or sister can usually tell if I’m ready to come out of the shower or not by my singing. I tend to sing whole songs – and by whole songs, I mean every verse, every chorus and even the bridge – so when I’m done, they come in, and I matter-of-factly say, “OK, I sang the whole song. I’m done now.”

Oh, and did I mention that I sing VERY loudly? It really is a cleansing catharsis.

Do you sing in the shower – or tub? What’s on your setlist, friends? xoxo

I don't remember the last time I didn't sing in the shower. When I was a kid I peeked during the shower scene in the movie psyco, and I've been scared of showering ever since. Singing helps me get my mind off of it.

I basically sing everywhere! Including the shower. Loudly, badly and obnoxiously. I never get tired of singing Lady Gaga's songs, like Bad Romance. I'll wave my arms everywhere like in the music video and shout "rah rah ah ah ah!" so fun. try it! haha

Singing in the shower is such a wonderful thing and I love that you sing the whole song…that is a true talent, Melissa! I rarely know all the lyrics and if I do, I often have them wrong…hehe! 🙂 Keep singing girl!

Don't sing in the shower myself, but my daughter is an early starter: she sings 'Gonna Wash That Man Right Out of my Hair' every time!

All the time! (Except the year an opera singer moved in next door & I heard *her* in her shower, it made me soo self-conscious 'cause she probably heard me too…but she moved out & I felt free to croak again :))

Not in the shower so much as the car. I sing loudly in the car all the time. When it's summer and I have the windows down, I don't care if anyone hears me, I just keep singing.

Believe it or not, it really does keep me sane.

Oh gosh! Don't think I'd sing if I lived by an opera singer. And I do sing Johnny Cash too…forgot about that one!

I'm actually about to go shower right now and I've had Alone by Heart stuck in my head all day so that's probably what I'll open with.

I don't sing in the shower, but I love singing in the car. Guess it's from the long commutes back and forth from college.

Teehee your song selection makes me think you have been watching GLEE <3 Personally, I like to sing in my car. It might bug my sister… and I sometimes love singing (quite off key) loudly. I figure people must look at me sometimes with a "wtf?!" expression on their faces. I am not comfortable enough to sing in the shower… even if its just in front of my family.
