Another item to add to my Reasons To Move To New York City list: Every year, Governors Island is transformed back in time to the roaring 1920s and the jazz age for the annual Jazz-Age Lawn Party. Flappers. Toe-tapping music. Beautiful costumes with pearls, of course. A frolicking, rollicking good time.
