A BIG thanks to Jamie who has been emailing Ellen every day for the last few months. It’s absolutely unbelieveable to me! So what do you say, friends? Will you help? I thank you in advance for your wonderfulness! We can do this!! If I ever do get to sit next to Ellen someday, you know I’ll be wearing a colorful polo too!
P.S. I tried doing this video twice, and each time, Vimeo’s sound quality was terrible. But I think you get the general idea! xoxo

Thanks, Mel. I hope others will start emailing! I can never view your vids at home because they're not compatible with my computer, but I'll watch it first thing at work!

Thanks for these sweet comments! So sorry the sound isn't so good.

A genuine question: What exactly would you be on Ellen for? Having a blog where you write articles about love/life? Having a disability? There is nothing marketable about either of these things and you have no press packet to back up what is unique about this blog. If you started trying online dating and chronciled that, then I'm sure you'd get some media attention. Your blog is currently a hodge-podge of pretty pictures, diary entries based in fantasy, and song lyrics. None of these things are any more special because you are a fully-functioning disabled person. You are clearly not mentally disable what-so-ever, so writing about whatever you want is not impressive.

If you go on Ellen's site, she has a tab that says "Be on the Show". When you click on the page, there are different categories to e-mail Ellen about–worst spring break pics, beautiful baby pics, people who should be recognized. Melissa falls under that category. Regardless of what Melissa chooses to write about on her blog, I believe she is someone who should be recognized? Why? Because I can't speak for the rest of you, but she has completely changed the way I view those with physical disabilities. It is with some shame that I tell you before I met Mel, I used to feel sorry for people with disabilities. I felt badly that they weren't "normal". After finding Melissa's blog, and reading about her experiences and triumphs, I learned that "normal" encompasses a vast array of definitions. The fact that she endured twenty-eight surgeries growing up and still managed to graduate from high school and college with honors is in itself a huge feat. That's why I think Ellen would adore her. It really has nothing to do with her blog at all.

You said it perfectly, Jamie.
Anon, as for what my blog IS about, might I direct you to the ABOUT ME paragraph (which you probably have never taken the time to read….):
This is my honest story of living life, looking for love with a physical disability called Freeman-Sheldon Syndrome and sharing the little gems I love along the way.
I'm pretty sure I can't spell it out any clearer. Would it help if they were bullet points? That would be less reading for you…
