Better Together.

I had started this one a few weeks ago, and finished it last night. I love this one because it’s more simple and to-the-point. It’s something I just want to shout to guys (well, everyone, really), “I’m different, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. It’s our differences that make us beautiful, and, in the end, have a way of drawing us together.” But this is also about how we all, at some point in our lives, have to convince ourselves not to be afraid, even though deep down, we know we are.

I see the way they look at me
But I just try to smile anyway
Maybe if I do that, they won’t see
That deep inside I’m sometimes so afraid

So I try to be honest and not let my insecurities show
There’s still so much he doesn’t know
And, oh, hey, I may be different
But isn’t that what’s beautiful in the end?
If only he’d take a step outside the lines

That we could be amazing, fantastic, romantic, ever-lasting
We’d be so much better together

I know I don’t look like the other girls
But I can’t be anyone but myself
Maybe if you took the time to look underneath this red hair and all these freckles
You just might find a piece of yourself

When you’ve found the one thing, the one thing that makes you feel like…you’re home?
