Inspiration: Classic Soda Pop & Candy.

Oh gosh, friends, have you ever been to Galco’s Soda Pop Stop? The LA-based store is family-owned, and when John Nese took over the store after his father, he made it his mission to make the shop the ultimate soda-lover’s destination. “About 500 pops line the shelves, sourced lovingly by John from around the world. John has made it his mission to keep small soda-makers afloat and help them find their consumers,” according to Chow. And even better, the shop also sells classic candies such as Bit O Honey, Boston Baked Beans and Bottlecaps AND sells the soda in those old-time classic bottles. A store after my own heart. How cool is that?

What’s your favorite type of soda, friends?

P.S. There’s even an entire category for root beer alone. Yes, this is my heaven…

There's a store on N. Southport in Chicago that caters to classic candy. They sell everything.

There's a store in Old Town San Diego that has EVERY kind of old soda you could want. We bought a Leninade (because it was funny) and a Bubble Up because it's my favorite from childhood.

Grandparents live in Western Pennsylvania and not too far from there town is a small market store where they have homegrown vegetables and aisles and aisles of candy! When we go back to visit we usually make sure to stop in and fill up a bag of goodies – they have old candy brands I haven't seen in years and even brands my parents remember enjoying when they were kids =)

Can I ask you something? Why do you start so many sentences with "Oh gosh friends!"?

Nobody speaks like that. It sounds so stupid, and its not cute. The minute I read that first sentence makes me want to stop reading the rest of your blog.

Sounds like a great store! If I'm ever in LA I will definitely have to check it out. Root beer or Orange for me!
