So here’s the situation: I found someone I went to high school with on Facebook. He graduated two years before me. Honestly, he probably doesn’t even remember me — surprisingly, I was quite the wallflower back then. Anyway, his profile intrigues me. Would it be too creepy to message him on Facebook?
Do you ever do this? What do you even say without coming off as a complete loon — which we all, sadly, know is something I’ve been known to do in the past.
So is there some sort of fill-in-the-blank form letter for these sorts of things?

I think you should message him. I would and I do.

I would just message him. Facebook is so casual that I don't think he would think it's a big deal. Go for it!

I poked him… 😉

I just FB'd my childhood bestie. Hopefully she won't think I'm a creep. Ah ha

The worst thing that would happen is he would not answer. If he says he doesn't remember, no worries! You can make a new friend at least.
Jenny Brown says
You poked him…..good for you! I say you send him a message and tell him who you are and go from there! Diana's right, the worse thing he can do is ignore you. Nothing ventured, Nothing gained!
Good luck!

I would friend him and send a message with it letting him know who you are and why you are friending him. If he is a decent person, he would be flattered that you are intrigued by his profile. I do this all the time with people that I remember…sometimes they just need a comment to jog their memory as to who you are.

I think you should message him. I've done it before and they don't seem to mind.

Gor for it. The worst thing he can do is -not- reply.. In which case it's his loss. Remember – no regrets-.

I have added so many people from elementary and high school and almost never send a message first. I skip all that and go straight to the friend request. Then I look through their page and usually send them a message thanking for accepting the request and seeing how they've been doing over the years. Easy peasy!

I agree with sending a message along with the friend invite. If you went to the same school you probably have a lot of friends in common too. Hey, it's worth a shot.

Is he an old crush or just some guy you knew? cause that would make all the difference…either way I say go for it and message him! I mean he's nice right???
If someone from my past found me I'd be totally interested in seeing who they'd become and what they were like now (especially if it were a cute guy, LOL!)…

I think I would message him first, then if a good conversation follows, send a friend request.
