When I was little, one of my favorite summer traditions was walking with my mom and sister, in the Illinois heat and sunshine, to the nearby 7-Eleven for a Coca-Cola Slurpee. I savored the refreshing flavor all the way home. I also loved the spoon-like straw!
To celebrate its 82nd birthday, 7-Eleven will be giving away free Slurpees today – July 11.. Get it? Awesome, huh?
As fate would have it, we’ve moved to a new house that has a lovely 7-Eleven right down the street, so I’ll be enjoying a nice summer’s walk and refreshing drink today. Will you?

Oooh, thanks for the heads-up! On 7/11 last year I found out they were giving freebies, but I didn't find out until late and by then they had run out! Waahhh! But not this time!!!
