Note To Self: Top 5 Things To LOVE About Your Body Right NOW.

Dear Self (insert your name here if you like):

I’m having one of those body UGH! days today. You know, the kind that leave you feeling more frumpy than fabulous. I’m wearing a green sweatshirt that is two sizes too big and my red hair seems a lot more blazing than usual.

It’s times like these that I like to take stock in the GOOD things about myself — it’s far too easy to get caught up in the things we can’t change and only see them as these big, bad negative things. Newsflash: It doesn’t have to be like that. Think about what you like about yourself and what is beautiful about your body. Here are some of my ideas….send me yours too!

Your Brain
Once more with feeling…the brain is, hands down, the sexiest body part. Heck, it’s what makes you, well, YOU! So, go ahead and show off noggin of yours!

Your Eyes
I never used to be an ‘eye’ person. Half the time, I never even noticed the cclor of people’s eyes, let alone cared. But the more I looked, the more I saw it: the eyes are the windows to your soul. Deep blues. Radiant greens. Mysterious greys. They all tell a glorious and wonderous story.

Your Freckles
I have freckles all up and down my arms and across my nose. I used to think they were pesky leopard spots, but now I just love to look at them because they remind me of my father. It’s funny how something as small (literally! And figurativel!) as freckles can become such a part of you, isn’t it?

Your Big Feet
I don’t have big feet (imagine how that would look on my short frame!), but my mother does (a size 12 in men’s, actually!). They remind me that my grandfather is with me every day, even though he lives 1,000 miles away.

Your Unique Nose
Aren’t you tired of all these celebrities (read: We know the truth, Ashlee Simpson) ‘fixing’ their noses? What’s wrong with having pride in your own nose, largeness be damned!

So, tell me what you like about your body….

xoxo,

Lately I haven't been loving my body very much. But if I have to pick 5 things here they are:

My eyes. I have big blue (sometimes Gray) eyes. They change colors from time to time and brighten my face.

My butt. Seriously. I am blessed with the right sized backside. Jeans fit great, I look nice in a bathing suit and a dress.

My legs. When they are covering with stockings of course. I am pale white and need a little color but I am all legs. People always think I am much taller than I really am because my long legs give off an optical allusion.

My brain. I have worked hard to obtain an edcuation, a great job and plenty of life experience. I can be funny, witty, sarcastic, intellectual and many other things.

My lips. I have always loved my lips. They aren't too big or two small. Covered with the right shade of lipgloss or stick they make my smile hard to miss.

Over the years, I have learned to love things about myself here and there. With a little bit more of the gym, I will love my abs again. I will NEVER love my breasts unless I pay to have some enhance them as they are almost non existent. πŸ™‚

    Great blog as always.

i love my nails, they're really long and rarely break
i love my brain, i'm not a genius but thats ok
i also love my freckles, they remind me of my little brother and sister who i rarely see
i love my tiny wrists too
i love my eyes, they're bright green and pretty unusual
i also love my hair, its ginger, which i hated when i was younger but now i love it cos it makes me different

Enjoying your blog with my morning cup of coffee. As I get older (and hopefully more wise) I begin to fall in love with myself.

I love my ash brown hair. I used to dye my hair, but my hair color is not original and I love watching it grow out.

I love my brain and although I am not a genius, I am witty, random and can be an intellect.

I love my boobs. I wasn't born blessed, but my doctor did great work on me. πŸ˜‰

I love my curves. I am Italian (enough said)!

I love watching my body mature – it's sexy!!

And lastly, I love this life!

    Great blog, Melissa!

I love my small hands and feet and the way my teeth look in photographs. I love my sensitive skin as it makes every touch a kiss and every pain a reminder of lives fragility.

Thanks for posting. I just started reading your blog and know I am going to love it!

    I love your blogs!

Funny you posted this blog today. I had a sense of doubt when I put on a V-neck shirt that I haven't worn since summer started. I felt pretty fat in it.

But thanks to your blog, I still have it on!

I love my lips -Even though they are so small-
My family told me that my great grandmother was just like me.

It's so good to see this here today! My last blog was actually all about needing to learn to love myself now that I've lost some weight. So… my 5
    1) My eyes – bright blue or light grey all depending on mood and clothes.
    2) My hair – Blonde, straight and easily managed
    3) My legs – They're not skinny, but they're long, and they're strong
    4) My freckles – They're all over my shoulders and face, I think they're cute!
    5) My abs – I've worked hard for them, and I'm proud to have them back!

I feel really inspired by you, your writing and your attitude! I spent the last two days reading all your blogs and it just amazes me how positive you are. You're the kind of role model I think all girls should have.

p.s. I love my small feet (size 5). They make me feel like a ballerina

We all have days hating our body. I think it is great on days like these to remind ourselves of the positives, especially in our perfectionistic society. BTW, you left out brown eyes!

I used to dislike my freckles as well, and trust me… I HAVE freckles & moles. I'm a chocolate chip cookie, but I am not concerned for them anymore. There is an article on my blog about freckles πŸ™‚
    5 things:
    my hair
    my butt/hips
    my feet
    my lips
me height πŸ™‚ good things come in small packages. I'm not that small, but 5'4

    Thanks Melissa

I love the idea of this post. One of my favorite things is the tiny freckle front and center on my throat. It is one of the few freckles of mine that I actually like. And my high forehead. When I was a kid I hated it because I thought it was too big, but now it reminds me of my grandmother and how beautiful she is.

    Awesome post =)

    Let's see…

    1. I think my eyes are my favorite physical feature. They're not a pretty color or anything, but they're big and expressive.

    2. My freckles. Across my nose and cheeks, I think they're cute (specially in the summer) and the ones on my shoulders, too.

    3. My hair. It's black, thick, and silky. I love it just natural and the way it feels when it's blown by the wind.

    4. My nose. It's actually kind of funny but I've learned to love it, and it makes me ME.

    5. My brain. Although I love it for all its non-physical contributions to my personality, it is who I am, all compacted.

I really have enjoyed reading your blog. Like…a LOT. I've recently come to terms that my body is not perfect and I love it the way it is. I love my curves and that I've got some meat on my bones. I love my skin, Vitiligo and all. And also, I love my brown hair and honey colored eyes. And most of all I love my brain. I'm not the smartest person in the world, but I manage (:
