The Power of Love.

It looks like my Ring of Hope column really struck a chord with readers this week. Chcck out this email from one such reader, Earl. Isn’t it a beautiful story? Makes me smile!

I read your story and it was very nice. You could actually “feel’ what she was doing.

When I read the headline, it brought to mind my wedding ring and thought I’d share the story with you. It won’t take long, but I’m willing to bet the word “wow” may come in to play.

My GF, at the time bought me a ring, and on the inside the inscription said “love of my life”. Yes, we had fallen in love “at first sight”.

Anyway, it was about a year later, and we were at a lake. The water near the shore was more shallow and you can relax in it and the bottom area is thick sand. Anyway, I was moving around in the water, my hands in the sand. Suddenly, the ring on my finger was literally ‘sucked” right off! I tried not to move around so that I could simply start feeling around and find it again, and I had my GF and some other friends come over to the area around me and also look. Unfortunately, we found nothing.

It was a very sad weekend, and we had to leave. She bought me another very nice ring, but it just wasn’t the same, ya know?

Well, 3 weeks later we went back to the same lake and we were hanging around the same area. I thought the area I was in seemed very familiar from 3 weeks earlier, so I ran my hands around in the sand for a few moments. Guess what? What felt like a bottlecap right away was my ring!!! 3 weeks later, in the sand, at a lake!!

I’ve had it ever since!

Have you ever lost something very precious to you, and then unexpectedly found it again? Aren’t those the best discoveries of all?

xoxo,

So About What I Said is a daily blog that covers relationships, disabilities, lifestyle and pop culture. I love to laugh and have been known to overshare. I also have an unabashed obsession with pop music, polo shirts, and PEZ dispensers. Read more...
